Years ago, when I went to see George of the Jungle (Brendan Fraser in a loin cloth...enough said) I heard this song and instantly liked it. It's simple and sweet and would be fun to choreography a first dance to!
Here's the lyrics:
One day I looked up and there you were
Like a simple question looking for an answer
Now I am a whale listening to some inner call
Swimming blindly to throw myself upon your shores
But what if I don't find you when I have landed
Would you leave me here to die on
your shores stranded?
I think I know why the dog howls at the moon.
I think I know why the dog howls at the moon.
I say:
"Dela! Dela! Ngiyadela!
(Content, content I am content)
When I am with you!
Dela! Sondela Mama Sondela!
(Closer, closer, come closer mama)
I burn for you!
Chorus:
I've been waiting for you all my
life -- hoping for a miracle
I've been waiting day and night -- day and night
I've been waiting for you all my life
-- waiting for redemption
I've been waiting day and night -- I burn for you
A blind bird sings inside the cage that is my heart
The image of your face comes to me
when I'm a-lone in the dark
If I could give a shape to this
ache that I have for you
If I could find the voice that says
the words that capture you
I think I know, I think I know
I think I know, I think I know
I think I know why the dog howls at the moon.
I think I know why the dog howls at the moon.
I say:
"Dela! Dela! Ngiyadela!
(Content, content I am content)
When I am with you!
Dela! Sondela Mama Sondela!
(Closer, closer, come closer mama)
I burn for you!
When we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness -- and call it love -- true love. - Robert Fulghum

Long Time Couples Dance - Through The Years
There are so many wonderful first dance songs, that I thought I'd add a song for all the folks that have been together for a long time!

Personal - Happy 20 years
On February 21, 1992, a nerdy, nervous 18 year old boy boy knocked on the front door of an equally nervous and awkward, 16 year old girls house for their first date.
20 years later it still amazes me that after all the good, bad and crazy in the life we have together we are still going strong and getting better every year.
Lots of love to my wonderful husband Jamie!
